At this year's EuroBLECH Bystronic will be presenting numerous new developments from all product areas. Amongst them are completely new machines as well as a range of innovations for even more productive and efficient cutting and bending processes.
Visitors to the Bystronic booth will once again be able to take pleasure in a whole range of new solutions for sheet metal processing at the EuroBLECH 2010. Under the motto "Bystronic: Best Choice." the Swiss company will be presenting innovations from all its product areas. In addition, Bystronic will for the first time be present with two stands at the largest exhibition for sheet metal processing, one of which will be dedicated exclusively to the secondhand machine business.
Fiber laser and process automation
For the laser cutting segment, right on time for the 50th anniversary of the laser, Bystronic will display its first production model of a laser cutting system equipped with a fiber laser. The BySprint Fiber 3015 with the Fiber 2000 two kilowatt laser source provides unique parts output, in particular for thin sheets up to four millimeters, with the highest precision of the parts. In addition the laser source has sufficient potential so that the BySprint Fiber can also be used to process sheets up to a thickness of 12 millimeters. Furthermore the system is extremely flexible: In addition to steel, stainless steel and aluminum, non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass can also be cut with high process reliability and precision. Over and above this, the user benefits from a very high level of energy efficiency. And for anyone who not only wants to be able to work efficiently and economically but also places value on the aesthetics, they will be delighted by the attractive design of the BySprint Fiber.
A further emphasis in the laser cutting segment is the highly productive laser cutting with automated processes, both on and next to the machine. On display will be a fully automated laser cell, in which a range of new developments have been incorporated. The heart of the cell is formed by the new BySpeed Pro 3015 laser cutting system that can be supplied either with the ByLaser 4400 (4.4 kilowatts) or if desired with the ByLaser 6000 (6 kilowatts) as laser source.
The innovations on the BySpeed Pro are primarily in the area of machine autonomy. Additionally the BySpeed Pro has been equipped with a completely new cutting head and has an automatic lens cassette changer and the automatic nozzle changer that was already introduced last year.
The automation next to the machine has been extended with the newly developed BySort. With BySort both the materials and the resources are treated with care inasmuch as the cut parts are automatically removed from the cut sheet as well as sorted and stacked. Hence orders can be processed more quickly and the system's capacity used even more fully. Furthermore, the transfer to the follow-on processes has been considerably simplified.

Waterjet — from micro to macro
In the waterjet cutting segment, the Microwaterjet will be making its debut. This system is used for producing (very) small precision parts and will open the door to new, trend-setting markets. Over the whole working area of 1000 by 600 millimeters, even bars with a width of 0.2 millimeters can be produced with a roughness of up to N6. Furthermore, the Microwaterjet is the only waterjet cutting system with which a reproducible manufacturing tolerance of plus/minus one hundredth of a millimeter can be achieved. Typical fields of application are amongst others medical engineering, the electrical and watch industry, but also in the automotive, aircraft and aerospace industries.
Also new is the ultra-high pressure pump ByPump Ultra, with which a pressure of up to 5300 bar can be generated. The pump is ideal for users who occupy a lucrative niche and specifically acquire orders for cutting extra thick materials, for example metal sheets of more than around 150 millimeters. But central themes for Bystronic further remain economic efficiency and productivity covering a comprehensive range of materials and thickness spectrum. This means: Recommended operating pressure of 3600 bar in conjunction with multi-head cutting. Thus at the EuroBLECH 2010 the PrecisionAligner will be presented for the first time with which it is made possible even in an individual part to use multi-head cutting. Other innovations are the PositionPointer and the FixMaster. The PositionPointer allows the cutting head to be positioned more precisely and the material to be used more effectively. The FixMaster on the other is used to fix cut parts during the cutting process so that they are protected from damage.

Bending — always one step ahead
The pressbrake segment will be represented by three machines and with new developments that further improve the productivity of the systems. Thus the new safety system Fast Bend+ not only improves the machine safety but also increases parts output by some 20 percent. With the aid of a barcode scanner the change between jobs can be achieved even more quickly. Reduced energy consumption and less machine noise, characterize the Energy Saver. Following a bend, as soon as the upper beam reaches the upper dead center, the main motor of the Xpert switches off automatically until the next bending process is started.
New bending aids, with for example rollers for heavy parts and brushes for the careful handling of stainless steel, ensure even greater flexibility in material handling, above in particular with small lots. And the LED workspace lighting ensures that the workroom is perfectly lit and tiring of the operator is avoided.

Naturally, over and above all this, visitors to the Bystronic
exhibition booth will receive comprehensive information on the subject
of Service and Support à la Bystronic. Also the Bystronic Software
Forum, which during recent years has risen to become a true crowd
puller, will naturally be represented at the EuroBLECH 2010. There
customers and interested public learn how with relatively little
software effort, partially enormous savings can be made in the factory.
"At Bystronic the focus is on the customer. For them we want to be the best choice", is how Johan Elster, Head of the Bystronic Market Division NAFTA & Europe North, gets straight to the point of the Bystronic presence at the EuroBLECH 2010.
About Bystronic Bystronic is a worldwide active supplier of high-quality solutions for the economical processing of sheet metal and other sheet materials. Customers profit from application-oriented systems and services for laser and waterjet cutting processes as well as bending. The Swiss company with its headquarters in Niederönz (in the Swiss canton of Berne), employed in 2009 a staff of almost 1,400 and achieved translated revenues of euro 250 million.
Bystronic is a member of Conzzeta Group, a Swiss industrial holding company with activities in the fields of machinery and engineering, automation systems, foam materials, sporting goods and real estate. The companies of the Conzzeta Group employed a staff in excess of 3,200 in 2009 and achieved translated revenues of approximately euro 630 million.
